The Center for Diagnostic Imaging generates professional reports on x-ray, CT, and MRI studies in a timely manner and can also generate secondary reports on previously read imaging when a second opinion is desired.

Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
The Center for Diagnostic Imaging has an on-site diagnostic ultrasound unit which uses sound waves to produce diagnostic images of tendons, ligaments, nerves, muscles, and joints. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive and does not use ionizing radiation. The scans performed are performed and interpreted by a board certified radiologist, registered in musculoskeletal sonography (RMSK®).

The Center for Diagnostic Imaging has on-site facilities to perform radiographic studies that can either be interpreted by on-site radiologists or sent directly to the ordering physician with no report.

The Center for Diagnostic Imaging partners with SHIN Imaging to perform and interpret advanced imaging for your patients (MRI/CT). Simply check the box that says “Chiropractic Radiologist Report” on the following form.
Transmit Images and Referral Orders
Community doctors can utilize the Center for Diagnostic Imaging’s services by referring patients for imaging or by sending x-rays for professional reports or second opinions. Our services include:
- Interpretation and acquisition of x-rays
- Interpretation of your radiographic studies
- CD- or DICOM-based imaging interpretation of x-ray, CT, and MRI
With our Digital Agfa X-Ray system, we can acquire digital x-ray imaging on your patient, and securely email you a copy of the images with a digital report sent directly to your office.
For physicians who prefer to acquire their own images but would like to utilize our interpretation services, x-rays and CDs can be mailed to us, or you may transmit images via DICOM image transfer/web uploader which expedites report turnaround time.

At SCU’s Center for Diagnostic Imaging, patients can have x-rays completed on-site with expert review and reports generated same day or next day. This eliminates the need to travel to a separate imaging facility and wait for days to receive the results.
We accept most types of insurance as well as cash payments. Our billing department will bill insurance companies directly. In addition, we are a preferred provider for Blue Shield of California. Cash, check, Visa or MasterCard are accepted.

Hector Rivera-Melo, D.C., DACBR, RMSK
Director, Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Radiologist & Associate Professor
Dr. Hector Rivera-Melo was born in Mexico City and moved to Chicago at a young age where he completed his undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Following in the footsteps of his father, he decided to attend chiropractic school. He graduated from the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) in 2009 with a doctorate in chiropractic (DC), and shortly after began a residency in diagnostic imaging there. Dr. Rivera-Melo completed his residency and was awarded the title of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiologists (DACBR) in 2012. In 2017 he obtained his certificate in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound (RMSK ) Dr. Rivera-Melo has authored several radiology related articles and lectured internationally on various radiology topics. He is currently the Director for the Center of Diagnostic Imaging, head radiologist and Associate Professor at SCU, where he teaches several radiology courses.
Matthew Eurich, D.C., DACBR
Radiologist & Assistant Professor
Dr. Matthew Eurich grew up in the Omaha, Nebraska and became interested in alternative medicine at a young age. He received a Bachelor of Science in human biology and graduated Cum Laude from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1996. Dr. Eurich went on to open his own practice in the Omaha where he worked for three years before deciding to return to school to complete a diagnostic imaging residency at Southern California University of Health Sciences. In 2004 after successfully completing the residency he received his Diplomate by American Chiropractic Board of Radiology. He then promptly joined the faculty as a full-time assistant professor in the Diagnostic Imaging department of at SCU. He is enthusiastic about educating chiropractic students and radiology residents alike, and thoroughly enjoys his role as imaging consultant for the practicing chiropractors.
Simone Jordan, D.C., DACBR
Radiologist & Assistant Professor
Dr. Simone Jordan, D.C. was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and has always had a passion for health and patient care. She graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance with a minor in Nutrition and Health Promotion. During undergrad and beyond, Dr. Jordan first worked as a caregiver for elderly patients and also studied phlebotomy. She enrolled in the chiropractic program at the Southern California University of Health Sciences in September 2013 and the Doctor of Chiropractic degree was conferred upon her in December 2016.
Immediately after graduating, Dr. Jordan entered SCU’s Diagnostic Imaging (DI) residency, which she completed in December 2019 and earned her Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR) in 2021. Dr. Jordan is currently a full-time faculty member, serving as Assistant Professor within departments of LACC and on the DI team as a Radiologist at SCU Health.
